Lubrication plays an important role in extending the fatigue life of slew bearings and reducing friction, wear and temperature rise. Without proper lubrication, bearings cannot work well, and many bearing damages are related to poor lubrication. Grease lubrication is often used for the lubrication of slewing bearings. It can not only effectively reduce friction, wear and temperature rise on the friction pair surface, but also play a role in sealing and rust prevention.Although the operating speed of slew bearings is not high, most of them work under heavy loads. Therefore, poorly lubricated relative motion surfaces are prone to adhesive wear and even burns. At the same time, most slew bearings work in the open air. High temperature and humid environment can quickly cause the rolling elements and raceways to rust. The lubrication of slew bearings takes into account the influence of complex comprehensive factors. Users can choose the best grease according to specific requirements.

The slewing bearing raceways and gears are lubricated with grease. In this way, it can not only reduce the wear on the surface of the friction pair, but also play the role of sealing and rust prevention. In addition, high-pressure oil is also used to lubricate the slewing bearing.Period of regular lubrication
For slewing bearing raceways working in an environment with a temperature of -20°C to 80°C, the following requirements can be followed for maintenance:
(1) When working in an unclean environment and operating continuously, lubrication should be performed every 40 to 50 hours of operation;
(2) When working in an unclean and humid environment and running frequently, lubrication should be performed immediately before and after work;
(3) Working in a clean environment and operating intermittently, it should be lubricated every 3 to 6 months.
For slewing bearings that work continuously in high temperature and dusty environments, the lubrication interval should be appropriately shortened. The machine should be lubricated before and after it is left idle for a long period of time. The lubrication of the ring gear and pinion should be based on the condition of the teeth. When the tooth surface has a bright spot, grease is required. Usually lubricate once every 2 to 3 months.
- Roll to lubricate method
(1) Use pipelines to connect eight lubrication points with the parts where lubricant is concentrated, that is, centralized lubrication;
(2) Inject lubricant into the nozzle of each lubrication point, that is, dispersed lubrication.
When adding lubricant, the support should be rotated, and the lubricant should fill the entire space in the raceway to squeeze out excess grease from the seal or seal gap and bring out dirt, dust, etc. in the support.
